Ansys Forming is an all-in-one forming simulation software built to digitally design and validate every step of the sheet metal forming process with speed and accuracy.
Ansys Forming simulates all metal stamping tasks through an end-to-end workflow that allows you to perform the entire die process in a single platform, with the fastest solve time. With Ansys Forming you can achieve optimal performance, maintain speed and accuracy, and enhance your productivity and cost savings by reducing die cuts and redesign.
Powered by the LS-DYNA solver, Ansys Forming offers a comprehensive platform to meet all your metal stamping needs. Able to monitor each stage with presets, including feasibility, formability, and springback, Ansys Forming advances early stage and detailed design configurations.
July 2022
In 2022 R2, Ansys Forming includes new features: improved mesh adaptivity to reduce CPU time, a new stoning feature to evaluate the surface quality, and a newly added CAD reader that allows users to import native CAD files without converting to IGES files.
A new functionality called stoning evaluates surface quality to replicate the testing process. This new feature enables users to find surface lows and smoothness in different orientations easily.
A newly added CAD reader allows users to import native CAD files (UG, Catia v5. Solidworks, Solidedge, Inventor) without converting to IGES files to streamline the workflow between CAD and simulation.
Improvements with mesh adaptivity functionality refine the mesh only in specific regions required for the given geometry. This improvement helps reduce the final number of elements resulting in reduced CPU time to save users simulation time without compromising accuracy.
It's vital to Ansys that all users, including those with disabilities, can access our products.
